We’ll cover everything from outlaws and shootouts to catastrophic fires, Buffalo Soldiers, historic hotels, colorful characters, and some of the stranger moments in Durango history.
Along the way, you’ll hear about Durango’s rough-and-tumble beginnings, the arrival of the railroad, the legendary Strater Hotel, early lawmen and lawbreakers, and the people and events that turned a brand-new frontier town into the Durango we know today.
This is real local history told with personality, humor, historic photographs, and plenty of stories you probably won’t find on the plaques.
