Durango Open Mic Poetry - Season Finale
The Subterrain (Entrance on 9th)
DESCRIPTION
Durango — one last night beneath the street and we’re closing the year with a powerful Durango voice.
Our 7pm Spotlight Poet is Kirbie Bennett, an essayist, poet, audio producer and member of the Navajo Nation whose print and audio work has appeared in High Country News, KSUT Public Radio, 68-to-oh5, Last Real Indians and Four Corners Voices: Stories, Poetry, Essays. His poetry has also recently been featured in Arts Perspective Magazine.
Doors open at 5:30pm. The Open Mic begins at 6:00, Kirbie takes the Spotlight at 7:00, and the Open Mic resumes at 7:30.
Can’t join us in the grotto? The Spotlight will be livestreamed on Facebook via Larry Bourland.
After this night, Durango Poetry takes a holiday break before returning January 28, 2027 — with a new time, a brand-new look and another season of great Durango poetry and Spotlight Poets.
To everyone who has read, listened, applauded, supported and filled that room with poetry this season: thank you.
The best is yet to come.
