RMPBS, Durango Community Cinema and The Durango Discovery Museum present a free screening of the PBS Independent Lens film, "DAISY BATES: First Lady of Little Rock" the mostly forgotten story of the civil rights hero who supported the nine black students whose registration in 1957 at the all-white Central High School in Little Rock, Arkansas precipitated a national constitutional crisis. Conversation after the film on desegregation in the 1950s including former lobbyist Susan Troen and a closeup view of Durango's ongoing "Occupy" discussions from Carol Clark of FLC's Civic Engagement Office.
