ABOUT - Once upon a time, someone attached hair to a stick and made the first brush and revolutionized painting. In much the same way, art making changed with the introduction of the first affordable handheld video camera. Visual artists have been and still are experimenting. Andy Warhol, Cindy Sherman and many art icons have created work using moving image. Today, video is more accessible than ever. The genre is flourishing. An entire industry of online video sharing platforms and mobile phone applications are the evidence. Vision Altogether surveys a field of visual art created when performance artists capture their ephemeral art form and share it using videography. Participating artists include William Lamson, Scott Rhea, Sarah Scoduto and others working where the visual, performance, and cinematic arts meet.
