DRAWING FOR EVERYONE (Especially those who think they can’t draw!) with Kristen Doty Free Artist Lecture: Friday, March 3, 7-8pm Saturday-Sunday, March 4 & 5 | 9am-4pm $175 Members / $190 Non-Members + $15.00 materials fee paid to the instructor (Fee includes fresh fruits, vegetables and flower models, drawing kit and other supplies provided by instructor). You can draw! It’s just a matter of developing the right set of skills. If you’ve wanted to learn how to draw, build drawing skills to improve your paintings, or simply conquer your fear of drawing (or all of the above), this class is for you! Drawing is an art in itself, but it is also the backbone of painting, printmaking, and calligraphy. Learning to draw improves your hand/eye coordination, deepens your perception and teaches you to “see” in a whole new way. Through a series of demonstrations and exercises, you will gain confidence in your drawing ability and improve your skills of perception at the same time! We will focus on learning to see and getting that down on paper in different ways for a variety of effects from gestural sketching to more realistic illustration. We will explore light and form, and some color theory.
