Sat, April 15, 2017
10:00 AM - 11:00 AM
Do you love beIng outside and also helping others learn and appreciate nature? If you are looking for a way to volunteer for Durango Nature Studies that doesn’t require a lot of time, but focuses on your interests, becoming a Learning Center Docent is the thing for you.
Trained docents will spend one or two Saturdays of their choice between May and October greeting people at our Welcome Building located at our 140-acre Nature Center in Bondad. Some of the duties include:
Handing out maps
Taking entry fees or signing up new members
Selling merchandise
Telling people about the flora and fauna of the Nature Center
Handing out interpretive information
Helping kids achieve their Jr. Naturalist badge
We will provide a short training and manual for all docents. Participants receive a free year-long membership and a DNS t-shirt.
