Dr. Donald L. Fixico will deliver The Duane Smith Lecture in Southwest Studies on April 17th at 7:00 pm. A reception will preceded the talk at 6:00 pm; both events take place in the Fort Lewis College Ballroom. Dr. Fixico, Distinguished Foundation Professor of History at Arizona State University will give his lecture on "Water is Life and the Dakota Access Pipeline," from part of his forthcoming book, "That's What They Used To Say": Reflections on American Indian Oral Traditions, from the University of Oklahoma Press.
