The Scrugglers are a Durango, CO. based bluegrass band, formed in 2009 when a small festival in Silverton, CO. (The Jamboree) was looking for “tweener acts”. This was right about the time Todd Webster (mandolin), Steve Labowskie (bass) and Patrick O'Halloran (banjo) were experimenting with the creation a small rootsy grass band around Steve's unique 2-string washtub bass. It was a challenge to create a sound with this unique instrumentation and the guys weren't quite sure it could work without some of the other traditional instruments like guitar, fiddle or dobro.
