Playwrighting: Make a Scene!

This workshop will take a personal approach in teaching students how to create a short play based on their life experiences. Students will learn the fundamentals of structure, character, humor, and subtext. Each student will leave the class with a performance ready short play. Workshop is led by Peter Gil-Sheridan, award-winning playwright who is currently the head of the MFA Playwrighting Program at Indiana University in Bloomington. He received his MFA in Playwrighting from the University of Iowa. His plays and monologues have been performed across the country and developed by the Sundance Theatre Lab, Ars Nova, The Guthrie Theater, the Soho Rep Writer/Director Lab, and InterAct Theatre among others. He has been an integral part of A Theatre Group’s New Play Development Program in Silverton and is the inaugural recipient of the Mollie Mook-Fiddler Fellowship.
