La Plata County Senior Services, Mercy Regional Medical Center, Alpine Hospice and the University of Denver Graduate School of Social Work are presenting a free full day workshop: Community Challenge – Meeting the Needs of Seniors, Providers and Caregivers on Wednesday, March 28th, 2012 from 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM at the La Plata County Fairgrounds Extension Building. Seniors, their families and caregivers and the agencies that serve them are encouraged to attend. Topics include: Transitions in Aging; Advance Directives- New Updates; Dementia, Alzheimer’s and Cognitive Functioning; End of Life Issues; Palliative Care; Management for Caregivers; Community Resources for Seniors, Their Families and Caregivers. Each participant will receive booklets with information on over 15 areas of concerns for seniors and local resources. Call 382-6444 to register.
