Marty Stuart was 13 when his precocious mandolin playing landed him a job in Lester Flatt’s bluegrass band. It was the launch of a career that has now spanned four decades, and included Stuart playing bluegrass fusion, working with guitar virtuoso Doc Watson and touring for six years with Johnny Cash.
With his current tour, Stuart is touring with his band, His Fabulous Superlatives, promoting his latest album, Ghost Train: The Studio B Sessions. As musicologist Peter North cites, “Marty Stuart seems wrapped in his destiny at this point in time. Not only as country music’s most notable ambassador/caretaker, but as its main archetypical crusader. He has without question evolved into one of the most important roots musicians and visionaries in America.â€
