Students will learn a short history of the pastel medium, currently available materials, including pastels and the different surfaces upon which to work. Instructor, Lorraine Trenholm will cover mark-making, which is the basis of all pastel work. Lorraine will lead the students through exercises to learn about the differences between various pastels, and how they work on different surfaces.
