September is a time of change in both the human and natural worlds. Join DNS naturalist Mike Bienkowski for a hike under the full moon along the Animas Overlook trail to watch the moonrise over Animas City Mountain and learn about the changing animal residents of the area as nights grow longer and the air colder. We will learn about the different migrants arriving to, leaving, or passing through the montane forests in the San Juan foothills, and also discuss the preparations the ancient residents of its valley made in advance of winter.
