Gleason will portray President Andrew Jackson. Jackson, the 7th U.S. President. His talk is entitled, “Born in a Storm.†Jackson also known as “Old Hickory†was one of the more controversial Presidents. His avid support of controversial laws and practices helped transform the West by opening the west to white settlements. His influence reached across the country into Texas and Arizona through the actions of the history making personages of Sam Houston, James Polk, future President, and James Gadsden.
Mr. Gleason obtained his theatrical training at West Chester University and his historical portrayals have been featured at the White House Visitor’s Center, The National Archives, The Library of Congress and elsewhere. Last March Mr. Gleason portrayed Pres. Andrew Jackson at his home, The Hermitage, in Tennessee in honor of his 250th birthday.
