Sharing Stories Across the Watershed: Dine Perspectives

Join Diné speakers at the Animas Valley Grange Hall to hear perspectives on the importance of the Animas-San Juan river system to Navajo health, farming, and cultural practices. Dr. Karletta Chief (University of Arizona) will speak about a collaborative research partnership to monitor the San Juan River. Duane “Chili†Yazzie (President, Shiprock Chapter) will describe the importance of subsistence farming to Diné communities. And Janene Yazzie (Tó Bei Nihi Dziil organizer) will discuss efforts to organize tribal youth and community members around issues of water sovereignty.
Soup and appetizers will be served at 5:30.
