Fri, March 30, 2018
7:30 PM - 9:30 PM
Did you know that 43% of Colorado's land area is owned by the public? Have you ever wondered why public lands are most extensive in the west, and far less so in the eastern U.S? Do you know the differences between Bureau of Land Management, Forest Service, and National Park land, or why these lands were placed under public management in the first place? Join Durango Nature Studies for a leisurely 2 mile night hike under the full moon in Hidden Valley area of the San Juan National Forest to experience an amazing natural resource right in Durango's backyard, and learn a thing or two about the natural and human histories of public lands in Colorado.
