Jonathan Thompson, journalist and author of the recently released book, River of Lost Souls: The Science, Politics, and Greed Behind the Gold King Mine Disaster, will speak to the hope he sees in innovation. There are innovators and inventors and entrepreneurs quietly working on the problem of inactive mines, and they’ve come up with some amazing solutions that not only reduce pollution, but power and heat homes in the process. He believes there is hope for cleaner future through common-sense policies that incentivize problem solving and pollution-reduction.
