The mobile observatory is a science center on wheels, giving participants interactive activities for all ages. An assembly at 1:00 p.m. will focus on watershed health and water conservation. The observatory is a program of the National Space Science and Technology Institute, Pikes Peak Observatory. Later that evening at dusk, the celestial telescopes will be brought out for public use. The Durango observatory experience is underwritten by Stone Age Tools. The event is free and open to all ages and the Powerhouse Science Center will be free all day as well.
