DESCRIPTION
We are pleased to announce that the Growing Together Ability Summit is taking place Tuesday, June 4 from 9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. and offers youth and adults with disabilities, their families, friends and support professionals across Southwest Colorado a day of educational workshops, networking and a free lunch! Topics include youth leadership, technology for independent living, CO Medicaid Waiver Programs & Consumer Directed Services & Supports, Brains and Behavior, Self-Advocacy, Music Therapy & more.

Jeff Newman, Case Manager and PCT Certified Trainer at Community Connections, will deliver the lunchtime keynote address on Person Centered Thinking, a set of philosophies and skills to equip people with disabilities, and those who support them, to have positive control over a life they have chosen for themselves. A reception and free public screening of the film, "Life Animated" will take place at 2:30 p.m. in the FLC Vallecito Room.

The Ability Summit is a collaborative offering of San Juan BOCES, The Arc of Southwest Colorado, the Southwest Center for Independence, the Adaptive Sports Association and Community Connections.
