The contemporary South American rhythms of Baracutanga will kick off the Community Concert Hall/Alpine Bank.

Baracutanga is a seven-piece band representing four different countries (Bolivia, Ecuador, Peru and the U.S.). The New Mexico-based band takes pride in arranging traditional South American rhythms in new and interesting ways, such as combining huayño and cumbia with Middle-Eastern darbuka, or mixing Afro-Cuban bata and Afro-Peruvian festejo with Andean zampoñas.
