Feed Pigs Not Bears! The annual Pumpkin Drop-off will take place on the Friday and Saturday after Halloween at the La Plata County Fairgrounds in Durango and Eagle Park in Bayfield. Residents can drop off jack-o-lanterns and other festive fruits Noon to 6 PM on November 1st or 9 AM to 2 PM on November 2nd at either location. Please make sure pumpkins are free of candles, wax, paint and bleach as they will be donated to local farmers and ranchers to use as animal feed. The 2019 Pumpkin Drop-off is brought to you through a partnership between the City of Durango Sustainability Division, CSU Extension Office, The Good Food Collective, Bear Smart Durango, the Garden Project of Southwest Colorado and the Town of Bayfield.
