DESCRIPTION
On Earth Day, four local environmentalists will share their stories of how they work to build a better world.

Storytellers include:
Heidi Steltzer is a professor in the Department of Environment and Sustainability and of Biology at Fort Lewis College. She became interested in the environment as a career during her sophomore year in college and has pursued that interest to study snow and how it affects the ebbs and flows of the world.

Kayla Laughter is a senior at Fort Lewis College majoring in Environmental Science.
As a Navajo student who hopes to create a positive impact on indigenous communities, she has made it her mission to work to heal communities through science.

Rachel Landis started The Good Food Collective in 2018. The nonprofit works to reinstate an intact regional food system believing that, through food, we can heal ourselves and the community. She also serves on the La Plata Electric Association Board of Directors.

Ellis McNichol is a member of the Environmental Center and student representative on the Sustainability Council at Fort Lewis College. She is involved in numerous grassroots organizations and works to inspire youth and her peers by empowering them to become locally and politically involved.
