The Durango Friends of the Arts will hold a membership meeting from 10:00 a.m. to noon on January 16th in the Sunlight Room at the Community Rec Center, 2700 Main Ave. After a brief business meeting, well known journalist and community storyteller Ann Butler will present a special program, “Going out in Style.” Death through the Lens of Art and Words. She will be joined by political cartoonist and art historian Judith Reynolds. The lighthearted program will explore the history of death, the philosophy of dying, death in art, obituaries and obit cartoons . Please join us for this fascinating look at the not-so-Grim Reaper.
