DESCRIPTION
The Benefits of Regular Tai Chi Practice: • Improve health, strength, balance, coordination, & flexibility • Focus your mind • Increase your ability to handle stress in your life • Bring balance to your body and mind • Increase circulation of blood and lymph • Exercise the internal organs Tuesdays & Thursdays 9:00-10:00 am &/or 4:00-5:00 pm Durango Community Recreation Center – Windom room $10 Per Class or 10 classes for $90 Class Format • Gentle warm up movement and stretches • Tai Chi principles and structure • Yang Style 24 form • Qigong • Meditation Once proficiency in the bare hand form is achieved, students may choose to learn Tai Chi sword and/or Push Hands. Instructor Instructor Denise Lane began learning Tai Chi in the 1980&aposs and teaching in 1994. Her focus is on helping students improve and sustain health, balance, and centering through Tai Chi, meditation and Qigong. Her practice of Tai Chi has given her a foundation for maintaining balance, health, and grounding and even restore her own health. She is a former International forms Champion and Grand champion; four-time Women’s National lightweight Push Hands Champion; and a USA Team member and gold medalist in the 1st and 2nd Pan American Wu-Shu/Kung-Fu Games. While she learned much from the discipline required for performing and competition, her passion is in helping others live a healthy, balanced life.
