La Plata Dems on the Move is proud to announce the following speakers for our March luncheon: Guinn Unger, Indivisible Healthcare Committee; Monique DiGiorgio, Local First; James Iacino, 3rd Congressional District Candidate.
March Luncheon: Healthcare Solutions!
Health care has long been one of the most contentious political issues within the United States. Because of its remarkable complexity and controversial nature, many individuals remain uninformed or confused. This luncheon aims to dispel any myths you’ve been taught about our current healthcare system and clarify what our options are moving forward. Our three speakers have a lot to share!
Guinn Unger got involved with the ColoradoCare Amendment 69 campaign in 2016, and served as the regional coordinator for southwest Colorado. He served as co-chair for the Health Care and Senior Issues committee of Indivisible Durango. He was also elected to the Board of Directors for the La Plata Electric Association (LPEA) in 2017, and ran (unsuccessfully) for the Colorado state Senate District 6 seat in 2018.
Monique DiGiorgio is the Executive Director of Local First here in Durango. Monique was instrumental in founding the Chama Peak Land Alliance, a nonprofit organization of private land stewards in Durango’s backyard conserving open space, clean water, and abundant wildlife.
James Iacino is running for Scott Tipton’s seat as our United States Representative for Colorado’s 3rd Congressional District. His three key issues are economic mobility, affordable healthcare, and preserving public lands. He is the CEO of Seattle Fish Company, which has afforded him much success and publicity for his responsible sourcing and entrepreneurialism.
TICKETS: $20, scholarships available. Block tickets available at the door for $171 - that’s only $19 per lunch!
