7:00 PM - 8:30 PM
Durango Botanic Gardens is supporting a special presentation by renowned plant explorer Christopher Gardner, who will speak on the astounding plants of the Mediterranean. The talk is from 7 to 8:30 p.m. March 26th (a Thursday) at the Durango Recreation Center’s community rooms, 2900 North Main. A book-signing will follow.
Traveling across five continents – Europe, North America, Africa, South America and Australia – the authors of “Flora of the Mediterranean: An Illustrated Guide,” Christopher and Basak Gardner, reveal the rich botanical profusion that makes up the flora of the Mediterranean regions of the world. It’s a secret landscape populated by a dazzling variety of wild flowers and plants, from spectacular orchids and ancient olive trees to delicate snowdrops and hardy cacti. This lecture will present a unique window into the floral wonders of the Mediterranean world.
