DESCRIPTION
The 4th Annual Southwest Ability Summit, "Building Inclusive Communities," is taking place at the Durango Community Recreation Center. This free event, open to residents of our 5-county Southwest Colorado region, brings together children and adults with disabilities, their families and support professionals for a day of learning, networking and a free lunch.

Topics include "Ableism" presented by Ptisawquah, accessing employment supports, a "Speaking for Ourselves" Workshop, exploring college options, emergency planning, free technological resources, social security and medical benefits, "In our Own Voices" Raven Narratives style storytelling and more.

The Ability Summit is presented in partnership with regional agencies including San Juan BOCES, Southwest Center for Independence, Community Connections, the Arc of Southwest Colorado, Adaptive Sports Association and the Durango 9R School District.
