The 4th Annual Southwest Ability Summit, "Building Inclusive Communities," is taking place at the Durango Community Recreation Center. This free event, open to residents of our 5-county Southwest Colorado region, brings together children and adults with disabilities, their families and support professionals for a day of learning, networking and a free lunch.
Topics include "Ableism" presented by Ptisawquah, accessing employment supports, a "Speaking for Ourselves" Workshop, exploring college options, emergency planning, free technological resources, social security and medical benefits, "In our Own Voices" Raven Narratives style storytelling and more.
