In describing the film, documentarian Sean Owen says “’Silverton Gold’ explores the transition from mining town to tourism/ recreation based economy and the tension between development and preservation, while telling the story of the fortitude, toughness and perseverance of the people of Silverton, Colorado.”

Owen is an independent filmmaker based in Durango, Colorado. His most recent film “Tribal Radio” won Best Native American Documentary at the Santa Fe Film Festival in 2018. More of his filmography and bio can be found at http://seanwilderowen.com.
