Third Thursday Speaker Series - Jennaye Derge
Thu, July 21, 2022
6:30 PM - 9:00 PM
Debut Colorado author Jennaye Derge will read from her new humorous essay collection as part of Fenceline Cider's Third Thursday speaker series on July 21, 2022. The reading will benefit Bike Durango, a bicycling advocacy nonprofit organization, and will be taking donations for Rocky Mountain Planned Parenthood.
In her thirty-some years, Jennaye Derge has experienced life's highs and lows from the back of her bicycle. An avid outdoors person, Derge chronicles the crashes and burns, the flat tires and broken chains of life in How to Cry on Your Bicycle and Other Practical Lessons (Casa Urraca Press, 2022).
At Fenceline Cider (141 S. Main St., Mancos), Derge will read selections from the book, taking listeners on a ride with her commentaries on dating, mansplaining, commuting, and recreating. Her sardonic, feminist slant makes for fast-paced traverses through the life of a radical millennial mountain person.
