The Community Concert Hall at Fort Lewis College and Alpine Bank present the free summer concert series, "Concert Hall @ The Park" in downtown Durango's Buckley Park featuring Frontera Bugalú!
Frontera Bugalu brings the sounds of "cumbia rebajada", a style created by slowing down vintage Colombian cumbia records on turntables, started in Monterrey, NL Mexico and spread to the entire northern Mexican and US/southwest region including El Paso, Tx and Cd. Juarez, where the band is based. The band has developed their own unique cumbia style and a contagious live set, lead by a button accordion that sonically travels from region to region and lyrics that narrate the stories of latinos in the US and across Latin America. They have shared the stage with many from the latin music scene such as Son Rompe Pera, La Santa Cecilia, Los Lobos, Yeison Landero, and Celo Piña, among many others and have become a favorite in the southwest and along the border.
Picnics, blankets, and lawn chairs are encouraged with Fired Up Pizzeria offering a selection of food and beverages throughout the evening.
