The San Juan Archaeological Society invites the public to our July meeting. It will be in person and on Zoom. After a brief business meeting, Vincent MacMillan, Supervisory Archaeologist, Canyons of the Ancients National Monument, will present "Sand, Stone, and Songs: Ancient lessons from a Living Landscape." A pre-meeting social will be held in the reception area at 6:30 p.m.

Vincent MacMillan began his archaeological career in 1992 at the National Park Service Midwest Archaeological Center, where he conducted fieldwork throughout the Rockies, Great Plains, and the Midwest. He currently resides in Dolores, Colorado, where he has lived for the past 23 years, working as an archaeologist for Mesa Verde National Park, the US Forest Service, and the Bureau of Land Management. He has been the lead archaeologist for Canyons of the Ancients National Monument since 2011.
