Train like a samurai in this kids' Aikido class! Japan's samurai warrior class was abolished in 1868 to make way for the "modern world." However, for centuries samurai possessed all combat knowledge, and yet, their primary role in society was as peace-keepers.

Luckily, their secrets seeped into our modern world through the martial art of Aikido, which redirects the energy of an attack to snuff out the violence.

Students will learn practical Aikido techniques. Students will also develop confidence and physical coordination through basic weapons training with the bokken (wooden sword) and jo (wooden staff). Expect a mix of action-packed games, mindful breathing moments, technical practice, and some thoughtful discussions.
