DEA National Drug Take Back Day
Sat, April 27, 2024
10:00 AM - 2:00 PM
The Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and the Durango Police Department are committed to making our communities safer and healthier by preventing medication misuse and opioid addiction. Do you have unused or expired prescription medications?
Dispose of them safely during DEA National Drug Take Back Day, hosted by the Durango Police Department at the Durango Police Substation near Three Springs.
Tablets, capsules, patches, and other solid forms of prescription drugs will be accepted during Drug Take Back Day. The station will not accept liquids (including intravenous solutions), syringes, sharps, or illegal drugs. We will continue to accept vaping devices and cartridges at the drop-off location. Please remove lithium batteries before discarding them.
We will also be collecting food donations for Manna Soup Kitchen. Useful items include canned goods (fruits, vegetables, meats, meals) or packaged meals in single or group serving sizes (ramen, pasta, oatmeal, cereal, granola). Personal hygiene products are also beneficial.
