Taught by Courtney Child, City of Durango Multimodal Specialist and League Cycling Instructor. This is the on-bike lesson of the City of Durango's bike commuting classes. Since this is an outdoor class, it is weather dependent, with possibility of it being postponed. Bring a bike, helmet, water, sunscreen anything else you need for riding your bike for two hours.
We will cover the following drills: starting/stopping, scanning, shifting, quick stop, rock dodge, avoidance weave, and quick turn. This class is designed for beginner cyclists and anyone who feels they need practice with bike handling. It is recommended for all attendees to complete the "Hazard Avoidance Maneuvers" Smart cycling course from the League of American Cyclists Learning Center. The age requirement is 16+.
