Acclaimed cellist of the Emerson String Quartet, Paul Watkins will join our Festival Orchestra, led by Maestro Guillermo Figueroa, for the final concert of our 2024 Festival!

Pieces to be performed include:
MIKHAIL GLINKA: Overture to Ruslan and Ludmilla
DMITRY SHOSTAKOVICH: Cello Concerto No. 1 in E-flat, Op. 107, featuring Paul Watkins, cello
LUDWIG van BEETHOVEN: Symphony No. 7 in A, Op. 92

Join us for a free pre-concert lecture at 4:00 pm at the Center for Southwest Studies at Fort Lewis College, presented by Dr. Linda Mack Berven.

This concert is eligible for the Free Student Ticket Program! The Music in the Mountains Free Ticket Program for students offers up to two free student tickets with the purchase of one adult ticket to select festival concerts. If you are interested in securing free student tickets, please do not place your order online. These orders must be placed over the phone at (970) 385-6820 or in person at the Festival Office (515 E. College Drive, M-F, 9am-5pm). Note: Students must be present to receive tickets at Will Call.

As part of our “We Applaud You!” program, Music in the Mountains is honoring local nonprofit, the Women’s Resource Center, during this event. The Women’s Resource Center offers a supportive environment for individuals in need to access empowering community resources. Please join us in applauding them for they do year-round in our community! Keep an eye out during this event for guest volunteers from the organization!
