Kirk is known for his strong blues guitar style and distinctive vocals. James plays both original material and also classics from the Blues Masters. He has opened concerts for John Hammond, Eric Johnson, Richie Havens and Los Lonely Boys amongst others. Solo or with the Kirk James Band, he can be found performing at Festivals, Concerts and small venues.
