Learn some great Western Slope edible and medicinal plants and mushrooms. You'll get hands-on time harvesting nettles from the garden and kitchen time processing plants for food and medicine, while learning key skills important for safely foraging.
There will be a free, hour-long plant/mushroom identification walk for class attendees. The walk will be within an hour of Durango and the time will be decided upon by class registrants. You'll "meet" wild foods and medicines where they grow, learning their uses; when, what parts, and how to gather and process; and a little bit of folklore, chemistry, and safety information.
