There is a one-time screening of Drunken Master II (subtitled) at the Gaslight Theater this Wednesday, August 14, at 7pm. Released just before Jackie Chan's move to the US, this film is a masterpiece of choreography and action, directed by the legendary Lau Kar-leung.
Drunken Master II, also known as The Legend of Drunken Master, showcases Jackie Chan at his peak. The film is a blend of incredible martial arts, humor, and Chan's signature style of physical comedy. The story follows Wong Fei-hung, a Chinese folk hero, who uses the "Drunken Boxing" style to protect his town and uphold justice. This movie is celebrated for its breathtaking fight sequences that are nothing short of poetry in motion.
The film's host will share a few words of background and context before the screening. Don't miss it!
