The Durango Open Studio Tour, a unique and curated experience for both visiting and local art lovers, offers a free, self-guided tour of Durango's art studios. This is a rare chance to step into the workplaces of emerging and professional artists. The Tour also features a Friday night Opening Art Exhibition and two days of open studio tours throughout Durango.

From October 17-19, 2025, emerging and professional artists will open their doors throughout Durango, Colorado. This is your chance to explore a diverse range of local art studios, discover inspirational art, and connect with artists. You'll have the opportunity to purchase local fine art, explore a myriad of artist's techniques, and view a rich variety of art.

New this year, The Durango Open Studio Tour Opening Art Exhibition will be hosted at the Durango Creative District at 1135 Main Avenue, Durango on Friday, October 17 4:00-7:00pm. Here, you can meet the Artists, see a sample of their work, and plan your weekend. This is a free event, and all are welcome. The Tour is open to the public, allowing you to meet artists, experience their techniques, purchase local art, and connect with friends. The information booth the Durango Creative District at 1135 Main Avenue, Durango CO 81301, and Artist Studios are situated throughout Durango. Tour dates and times: Saturday, October 18, 10:00 am - 4:00 pm, and Sunday, October 19, 10:00 am - 4:00 pm.

Other events to build anticipation and connection include a Call for Artist Happy Hour Kickoff, where interested artists can meet past artists, future participants, and the curious to discuss past Tours and receive advice and tips from others (Union Social House, Thursday, August 7, 5:30 pm). An Artist Panel Discussion in September presents a unique opportunity to delve into the creative processes, inspirations, and stories that fuel the work of some of Durango's most talented artists on the Tour. A Private Artist VIP Celebration, held before the Opening of the Art Exhibition, is an opportunity for participating artists to connect and meet. An Artist Recap after the Tour is a chance to reflect on successes and areas for improvement in 2026.

The goal of the Durango Open Studio Tour is to continue promoting an event that fosters artistic exploration, discovery, connection, and inspiration.
