Family and community are the roots of Elder Grown, a band of brothers from Durango, Colorado. Every audience member becomes their 6th collective member - the heartbeat that fuels their music. Known for their energetic live performances, Elder Grown creates a captivating, genre-bending sound, blending hip-hop-forward funk, soul-inspired rock, jazz, and reggae, with improvisation at the core of their musical journey.
The release of Parachutes on New Year’s Eve 2024 marks a milestone in their evolution. Entirely self-produced and recorded, the album highlights Elder Grown’s signature style - groovy bass lines, bold saxophone, screaming guitar, and fearless instrument-swapping mid-song. With Parachutes, they invite listeners on an exhilarating musical rollercoaster, pushing boundaries while staying rooted in their soulful essence.
Elder Grown’s story began in the 1990s when the Hoffman brothers -Joshua, John, and Paul - grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico, surrounded by their father’s singer-songwriter performances. Their passion for music blossomed, and after moving to Southwest Colorado, the brothers formed Elder Grown, bringing their multifaceted talents to life.
Float Like a Buffalo delivers high-energy rock n’ roll, layered with funk, jam, and a bold brass section - a genre-bending live experience that gets the whole room moving.
