We are hosting our 2nd annual 5K walk/run for families to fundraise for two organizations that we support –Best for Babes Foundation and Durango Pregnancy Center. This event is about participating as a family in a fun 5K, so come out and enjoy the summer fun! We welcome strollers, baby bjorns, and kiddos on bikes - we want the whole family to join in the fun! This year’s 5K (3.1 mile) course starts in Santa Rita Park (149 South Camino del Rio) and heads South on the Animas River Trail. The route is away from traffic and has no street crossings - the kiddos will love going under the overpass and crossing the pedestrial foot bridge! After a turn-around point where the river trail ends at the Durango Mall, you’ll head back to Santa Rita for the finish. After the 5K, enjoy a brunch for participants with food generously provided by Serious Delights! We’ll also have some fresh fruit, iced tea, water, and coffee. Last but not least, stick around for the awards ceremony and prize giveaway. The event will be timed this year and we’ll be awarding prizes to our top finishers! Plus there are plenty of other goods to be won in the random prize drawing.
